I'm back!

It’s been a while, but I always knew… Someday I'd be back!

A couple of weeks ago it was 3 years since I joined Entelect and it’s been one hell of a roller-coaster ride! I’ve been a bit too busy to blog, but I was introspecting after speaking at Java SA Conference last week and came to the conclusion that it’s something I really need to make time for again. I’ve learned a hell of a lot over the last 3 years, so I should have no difficulty coming up with stuff to write about this time around.

So no more faffing around with my own crappy CMS - consider it deprecated. This is me putting my money where my mouth is about all the Docker stuff I was talking about.

This new site is a Docker instance running Ghost behind an NGINX proxy so that I can host my cousin’s new blog on the same server (you can go check out LazyGameDev if you want). It went from conception on Friday to a basic version running locally on Monday to production today. I think that’s pretty quick? It’ll need some polishing, but as Eric Raymond said: > Release early. Release often.

This is my first Docker production site, so you can expect more about how that’s working out for me in the near future.
